The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans residing abroad announced today, Thursday, that the Kingdom of Morocco has decided to summon its ambassador to Berlin for consultations.
"The Federal Republic of Germany has accumulated hostile attitudes that violate the highest interests of the Kingdom," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, in a statement received by the online newspaper Hespress.
The same source adds: "Germany recorded a negative position on the issue of the Moroccan Sahara, as this hostile position came in the wake of the American presidential declaration, which recognized Morocco's sovereignty over its Sahara, which is considered a dangerous position that has not been explained so far."
“Likewise, the German authorities are acting in collusion with a former convict of terrorist acts, notably by revealing sensitive information provided by the Moroccan security services to their German counterparts,” reads the text of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs communiqué.
The same ministry affirmed that "there is an ongoing, relentless fight against the regional role that Morocco plays, specifically its role in the Libyan file, by trying to exclude the Kingdom, without justification, from participating in some regional meetings devoted to this file, such as those held in Berlin."
“Based on the above, and because of this persistent and unacceptable hostility, the Kingdom of Morocco decided to summon His Majesty's ambassador to Berlin for consultations,” concludes the communication issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
