It’s painfully evident that Republicans have a very cramped idea of what religious freedom is, one that protects only their very narrow, very weird, very deadly, very stupid brand of evangelical Christianity. The latest example of this is Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier, who demanded Catholic schools to comply with state law to grant vaccine exemptions or lose access to funding.
